Website terms

• “We”, “us”: Leadvise Legal B.V., a private limited company under Dutch law, registered office Lise Meitnerweg 72, 2333 CZ Leiden, KvK 98899120.
• “Website”: leadviselegal.com and everything on it, including the calculator, the demo and the forms.
• “You”: anyone who visits or uses the Website, whether for themselves or on behalf of a firm.
• “Engagement agreement”: a written agreement between us and a firm for specific work, such as a fixed-scope project or a retainer.
• “Content”: all text, images, design, graphics, software and other material on the Website.

By using the Website you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it. If you use the Website on behalf of a firm, you confirm that you are authorised to do so.

An engagement agreement always takes precedence over these terms for the work it covers. Nothing on the Website creates an engagement on its own.

Leadvise Legal B.V. is not a law firm, and nothing on the Website is legal advice. We help law firms organise routine work; the firm and its lawyers remain responsible for all legal advice, for every document that leaves the firm, and for compliance with the rules of the Nederlandse Orde van Advocaten or any other professional body that applies to them.

The deposit check shown on the Website is a simplified illustration. The live service and its conditions are on findlawyer.nl.

Content on the Website is general information. We take care that it is correct, but we cannot guarantee that it is complete or current.

The hours calculator is an illustrative model, not a quote or a promise of results. Its assumptions are set out on the calculator page. Figures from our own work, such as time saved per case summary, describe what we measured on our own cases; results for your firm depend on your firm and are measured during a project.

Estimates, proposals and anything said during an introductory call are not binding. A price and a scope become binding only in a signed engagement agreement.

We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Website at any time, for example for maintenance or improvements, and we do not guarantee that it will always be available or free of errors.

Please give accurate information in our forms. You must not use the Website to:

• send false, misleading or repeated requests;
• send personal data about clients or other people that we did not ask for;
• transmit malware or any other harmful code;
• try to gain unauthorised access to the Website or the systems behind it, or disrupt them;
• scrape or systematically extract data from the Website;
• impersonate another person or firm;
• do anything unlawful or contrary to these terms.

The Content, including the design, code and overall look and feel of the Website, belongs to Leadvise Legal B.V. or its licensors and is protected by Dutch and European copyright, trademark and database law. The photographs are used under their licences.

You may view the Website, and print or save individual pages, for your own information. You may not copy, adapt, publish or otherwise use the Content commercially without our written permission, remove any copyright or trademark notices, or reverse engineer the Website's software.

“Leadvise Legal”, “FindLawyer.nl” and our logo are marks of Leadvise Legal B.V. and may not be used without our written consent.

If you believe something on the Website infringes your rights, email leads@findlawyer.nl with the work concerned, where it appears on the Website, your contact details and a statement that your notice is accurate. We will investigate and remove infringing material. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

The Website is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we give no warranty that it is uninterrupted, error-free or free of viruses, or that using it will lead to any particular result.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the Website, including lost profit, lost data, business interruption, or reliance on the Content. Our total liability for all claims relating to the Website is limited to EUR 5,000.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Dutch law, including liability for intent or gross negligence (opzet of grove schuld), for death or personal injury, for fraud, or under mandatory consumer or data protection law. Liability under an engagement agreement is governed by that agreement.

We are not responsible for websites or services of third parties that the Website links to, nor for failures beyond our reasonable control, such as outages of the internet, hosting or other providers, cyberattacks, natural disasters or government measures.

How we handle personal data is described in our privacy policy.

If you are unhappy with anything about the Website or how we dealt with you, email leads@findlawyer.nl with a description of the issue, the relevant dates and the outcome you would like.

We acknowledge complaints within 5 business days and give a full response within 30 days. If that does not resolve it, the courts in the next section are available.

These terms and any dispute about the Website are governed by Dutch law, excluding its conflict-of-law rules.

Businesses: disputes are submitted exclusively to the competent court in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Consumers: you may bring proceedings in the competent court of your place of residence or in Amsterdam, and you keep the protection of the mandatory law of your country of residence. We may bring proceedings against you only in the courts of your place of residence.

• Changes: we may update these terms. The version and date at the top show which version applies; the version in force when you use the Website applies to that use.
• Severability: if a provision is invalid, it is replaced by a valid provision that comes as close as possible to its purpose, and the rest remain in force.
• No waiver: not enforcing a provision does not mean we give up the right to do so later.
• Transfer: we may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms in a merger, acquisition or reorganisation.
• Language: these terms are written in English. If a translation differs, the English version applies to the extent the law allows.
